James R. O'Dell, MD

The Rheumatology Research Foundation is about supporting and nurturing the future of rheumatology. What do I mean by this? The future of rheumatology is obviously our fellows, but, equally important, it is continued research that will enable us to improve the lives of our patients. These two key components—inextricably interwoven in our training programs—form the cradle of rheumatology. The most obvious examples of the Foundation's impact on rheumatology are direct fellow salary lines and programs that support clinician-educators, but programs that support research at all levels are critical to the health and vitality of our cradle. Without our cradle, we have no future.

By designating a gift in my will, I am helping ensure the future of rheumatology. Most of us are fortunate to have estates.  The Legacy Society is a fairly painless but critically important way to support the Foundation and to ensure a better future for our patients and prospective rheumatologists for generations to come!
